Close to Donation Goal!

we are super close to our 6 month goal. Another $10 just came in from member pmprogrammer. Many Thanks to him and all the others who have helped. Since I broke the yearly campaign into two 6 month campaigns it has made the amount much more attainable. We needed $170 and are down to only needing $30 more to end this campaign. Next one wont start until January-Febuary of 2017. So any amount helps, those of you who can help us reach our final goal please don’t be shy and help out. Your contribution can even be anonymous if you like. Thanks everyone for making ViragoHelp.com the great site it is!! Peace.

Many thanks

First of all, I would just like to thank all of you who have come forward to monetarily help keep the site online. You are greatly appreciated.

Also a thanks goes out to all our members who visit the site frequently to read the new posts and questions to see if they have a particular answer a new Yamaha Virago owner needs help with.

Without both groups mentioned above this site would cease to exist because I would not work so hard trying to keep this site online like I do. Getting to see how many people this site helps is what drives me in my fight to keep Viragoelp.com online and available for new and old visitors to see.

Most all members here know the back story of how this site  came to be. If it wasn’t for a  great guy named Joe, this website wouldn’t have come to realization. He has been a great guy to know and work with.

We are getting real close to hitting the 50% mark on donations needed to cover our sites next upgrade. I Think I might just make a 2X a year donation drive, once every 6 months, to hopefully make it easier for all of us to put the funding together we need.

I am sending a special thanks out to Joe and a deserved THANK YOU especially since him knowing how hard times have been for me. Well Joe, I know times aren’t easy for you either so that makes the letter you sent even that bigger of a deal. I haven’t bought a new $10 pair of shoes in over 5 years… and as bad as I would like to get another cheap pair I just cannot knowing the site needs the help so badly.

SO MANY THANKS TO YOU JOE YOU ARE AN AMAZING GUY! I only ask that members of our site give him the pat on the back he is due! He is a silent superman NEVER asking for praise but I think he deserves LOTS of Praise!

Here is where we stand in donations:

I am changing amounts to reflect just a 6 month campaign instead of the full yearly campaign:

OK. THE TIME HAS COME.

GOAL $170 -6 Month Goal

TOTAL RECEIVED SO FAR $130

SO CLOSE ONLY $40 TO GO!!

We hit 12.09% CPU usage yesterday. That is wayyy over our allotted 4% average and even with all the streamlining I have done to try to keep it under 4% daily. which I might say was mildly successful, we are still having days spiking up huge CPU numbers that I just can’t get around unless I actually shut down the site once we reach our 4% usage total every day. That would bring the site to its knees in the face of showing up in google search results. I see now why Dr. Piston and the “VOC” Virago Owners Club ended up going offline. We need a massive campaign to put up enough funds to cover a semi dedicated server package for one year. It would allow us 20% average CPU usage time which should be plenty for us with room to grow for the next 2 years if my numbers I crunched are correct. I did manage to get the site a considerable savings of instead of $30 a month I opened up a reseller account allowing us to get it for $25 a month.(The Reseller Discount) We Also need SSL and a dedicated IP while were at it. So in total we need 12 Months X $25 = $300 plus we get the reseller discount on the SSL and IP boughten together for only $35. Thats for 12 months as well. So… Here is the total $335 taxes included. We recently just got a $20 donation plus I have some advertising money and other donation money I put up that hasn’t been used on the site yet.
So what I am asking is for everyone who is a part of this site to help out if they can by donating using the link on the left hand side of the site. (Donate to ViragoHelp) If you have any trouble using this link then instead you can fdollow trhe directions below by going directly to PAYPAL.

If you are familiar with PAYPAL you can easily go there to Paypal.com and log into your account and choose to send money. Add admin@viragohelp.com as the recipient and the money will go straight to our account. Every dollar counts so even if you are only able to send a buck then please do because it WILL help.

What Donation Box Looks Like

Even if you can only donate one dollar… every bit donated can AND will help! I will keep a running total on this web-page. You can recheck this page to see how close we are to obtaining our goal. Many thanks to those around here who help out and want nothing more than to see this website thrive!

THANK YOU ALL!!!!

New Donor

Special thanks to Linyoest for becoming a Platinum Member! The site is currently on the edge of needing to be upgraded again. We are averaging 500-600 visitors a day and it is taxing the hosting to its current limits. We are hitting our CPU usage limit for the server and it is time to get a dedicated IP as well as changing the site over to SSL to help keep information on the site safer. Donations like this is what will keep this site going. Many thanks to all who have helped!

Yamaha Virago Manuals

I have corrected the section “Downloadable Manual and Documents. There is now 3 Yamaha Virago Manuals available. Clymer, Haynes, and a Yamaha Factory Manual. I shrunk their sizes considerably to speed up downloading them. If you have any problems please contact one of us and let us know the issue you are having.

If you happen to have any documentation for the Yamaha Virago that we do not yet have please share! Just contact one of us and send us the documentation you have. It will be placed on the site for all to see with credits going to you. Thanks for visiting ViragoHelp!

Update for Friday 27th of May 2016

Update for Friday 27th of May 2016.

Hope you all are having a great Spring and quickly coming Summer.

Some good news as far as the site goes. I know I already mentioned this on the forum side of the site but we are officially paid up until June of 2017. This doesn’t mean the site doesn’t need more cash… it just means it is caught up until then. There are features that cost money like, weekly(or faster) automatic updates stored on a cloud server somewhere that I would love to have considering for now I do it manually and, As perfect as I would like to be, I do tend to forget to do the weekly updates here and there. This is just one feature I would like to add to the sites annual biling as well as many other time saving features, and just all around helpful things the site could use.

As the site grows I will need to look into adding more site administrators. Currently there is only 1 FULL MODERATOR (ME), 1 Site wide Moderator(Joe), and a single forum Moderator (Rich) so he can Moderate his section where he sells his kickass Yamaha Virago Parts.

My point is this…. just because I say the site is paid up for the next year…. it doesn’t mean we still do not need help from our awesome members. If you can’t afford to help out monetarily then you could still help out by becoming a Moderator. I have it set up so that a new members first post must be approved before it is visible to everyone else thus stopping spam from being all over the site. If you would like to become a Moderator just message me and I will make a decision based on your site activity and if I deem you worthy you will be on a short tether(At First) just incase you try to damage the site in any way.

I still do not have a replacement bike yet and am giving out a call to anyone in the Michigan area who has a bike I can get road worthy fairly cheap. I am selling my 2002 Ford Mercury Cougar for $800 oBo. It is driveable but either needs new plugs or wires since it is missing on and off on 2 cylinders. It apears to miss from idle up to about 2700rpms. Runs great down the highway. I already have a replacement truck. A 1998 FordXLT with a V-6 automatic with overdrive. Least I will be able to make a few bucks off it by moving scrap around inbetween taking care of my dad.

He is still very sick. Calostome bag, peg tube for feeding him straight to his stomache, cathedar, trachaeitomy as well. He is basically bed ridden but we are doing are best to keep him up and moving around to gain his strength back.  Sometimes he is kinda out of it… sometimes he seems like his old normal self.

I am hoping to sell this car and pay off the truck (was only $500) and have enough left over to buy ANY cheap bike that I can make some of these trips back and forth from clio to pinconning this summer. So as I said everyone please keep an eye out and any beater I can get tagged to run down the interstate would be great. Maybe someone knows where a halfway decent enduro is laying around with a clean title for real cheap. Thanks again to everyone on this site who has shown me support in my rough times of need. Maybe one day I can repay the favor.

PEACE!

ROB.
